Changed numbers can change answers

It can — snapped numbers are changed numbers, and small moves compounded through every layer can change an answer. Which is why nothing ships unmeasured: across the whole optimisation ladder, 10.2 to 106 tokens per second, GPU and CPU produced the identical greedy output, re-verified at every rung. Faster is only accepted when it is provably the same — and when a representation does change results, its fidelity says so, recorded against the source.
