Gptq and awq are methods

GPTQ and AWQ are methods — ways of choosing the codes, not ways of storing them. Both use calibration data to decide which representable value each weight should snap to; they can feed the same scheme and the same numeric format and produce different bytes. That is exactly why the container records the outcome and its provenance: two artifacts can share every storage layer and differ only in how the codes were chosen.
